“After many requests by students for the school to provide recording facilities for music performances, their dreams have finally become a reality thanks to the collaboration of the Music and IT departments. Audio/visual facilities in the IT block have recently been creatively adapted to accommodate the needs of the Year 11 & 12 TEE and Music in Society classes, allowing those students to create a permanent digital record of their musical endeavors in a professional-standard recording studio.
“The Year 10 & 11 music students continue their foray into the world of audio recording with their latest offering, a cover of the classic rock track Wild Thing.
Introducing the school’s shining star vocalist Bonita Holthaus, this track is hoped to be the first of many featuring her fantastic voice. Also included in the track is drum teacher Andy McPherson on lead guitar, student Dan Houghton on drums, Andrea Garcia-Soliz on bass and, as usual, John Keyworth working on production.”
“Students Kaylah Brazendale and Nathan Stone finished their school year off with a bang when they recorded an acoustic cover version of “Life is a Highway”
Their version is beautifully simple, consisting of only Nathan’s acoustic guitar and Kaylah’s fantastic voice, with subtle dynamic processing by John Keyworth who supervised the recording and production.”
